On the prohibition of an deposed bishop or deacon from filing an appeal to the king.
If a presbyter or deacon, deposed by his bishop, or even a bishop deposed by a Council, decides to trouble the ears of the Emperor, then he must appeal to the larger Council of Bishops, propose what he considers just to the larger number of bishops, and accept their investigation and decision. If, having shown disdain for them, he bothers the emperor, let him not be awarded any leniency, and have neither the opportunity to justify himself nor the hope of restoration.

Εἴ τις ὑπὸ τοῦ ἰδίου ἐπισκόπου καθαιρεθεὶς πρεσβύτερος ἢ διάκονος, ἢ καὶ ἐπίσκοπος ὑπὸ συνόδου, ἐνοχλῆσαι τολμήσειε τὰς βασιλέως ἀκοάς, δέον ἐπὶ μείζονα επισκόπων σύνοδον τρέπεσθαι, καί, ἃ νομίζει δίκαια ἔχειν, προσαναφέρειν πλείοσιν ἐπισκόποις, καὶ τὴν παρ᾽ αὐτῶν ἐξέτασίν τε καὶ ἐπίκρισιν ἐκδέχεσθαι, ὁ δέ, τούτων ὀλιγωρήσας ἐνοχλείσειε τῷ βασιλεῖ· καὶ τοῦτον μηδεμιᾶς συγγνώμης ἀξιοῦσθαι, μηδὲ χώραν ἀπολογίας ἔχειν, μηδ᾽ ἐλπίδα μελλούσης ἀποκαταστάσεως προσδοκᾶν.
