On August 2, the day of the celebration of the Abalak Icon of the Mother of God “The Sign,” celebrations on the occasion of the patronal feast took place in the main church of the Znamensky deanery. Numerous believers, residents of Novosibirsk, as well as pilgrims from other regions of the Novosibirsk diocese gathered to share the joy of the patronal feast of the Church of the Sign. According to the established long-standing tradition, in the morning a statutory water-blessing prayer service was served at the revered image of the Mother of God “of the Sign”, after which the entire temple was sprinkled with blessed water. Then a festive Divine Liturgy took place, which was performed by the dean of the Znamensky deanery, the rector of the parish, Priest Igor Nepsha, co-served by the clergy of the temple. At the special litany, the clergy and laity with one heart offered up special petitions and prayers for Holy Rus'. Almost all those praying on this significant day were granted communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. At the end of the Liturgy, a solemn religious procession around the temple complex was held under the ringing of bells.
