Archbishop Varlaam took part in the celebrations in honor of the Venerable Arsenia, Abbess of Ust-Medveditskayatranslated

On August 2 and 3, 2026, at the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Ust-Medveditsky Convent (Volgograd Metropolis), prayer celebrations were held in honor of the Venerable Arsenia, abbess of the Ust-Medveditsky monastery.
On the evening of August 2, on the eve of the saint’s memorial day, in the Kazan Cathedral of the Ust-Medveditsky Monastery, built by her labors, small vespers with the reading of the akathist and an all-night vigil were celebrated.
The services were led by Metropolitan Theodore of Volgograd and Kamyshin, co-served by Archbishop of Makhachkala and Derbent Varlaam, Bishop of Uryupinsk and Novoanninsky Elisey and Bishop of Akhtubinsky and Enotayevsky Matthew.
The clergy of the Volgograd Metropolis concelebrated with the archpastors.
During the all-night vigil, the abbess, Abbess Georgia (Borovik), with the sisters of the monastery and numerous pilgrims prayed.
Archbishop Varlaam read the Gospel parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) at Matins.
On August 3, in the Kazan Cathedral, the same cathedral of archpastors, co-served by the clergy of the Volgograd Metropolis, celebrated the Divine Liturgy.
The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of sisters of the monastery.
