Pupils of the Rodnichok camp visited the Intercession Church in Dzerzhinsktranslated

On August 18, 2026, the parish of the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Dzerzhinsk was visited by children from the educational and health camp “Rodnichok” of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 4 of Dzerzhinsk”.

The parish cleric, Priest Kirill Goncharuk, held a conversation about the history of the church and the traditions of the Church, and answered the children’s questions.

It’s good that the children were shown a real church, and not just told about it. Father Kirill did a great job answering all the questions; the children probably remembered them. We also have such excursions in Rostov, they are always useful.

It's good that they brought them to the church itself, and not just talking. Here in Banja Luka, elementary school students also come for similar talks with the priest, so afterwards they mostly remember how to light the candles and what the iconostasis means. Father Kirill did a nice job of answering everything they asked.

It’s good that they didn’t just take the children to the church, but Father Kirill also told a story and answered questions. In Moscow, too, schoolchildren sometimes come to the parish; what they like most is when they show how to put candles and what kind of icons are on the iconostasis. Well done for organizing such trips.
