We do something similar every year at our parish in Ottawa with the icon of the Theotokos, though it's usually just a short walk around the block after Liturgy. Sounds like this one in the Vоскресенском благочинии drew a real crowd. Does anyone know how many kilometers they actually covered this time?

We had a similar procession here in Sydney a few years back with the “All-Merciful Saviour” icon, only it was just a couple of blocks because of the summer heat. Looks like they really turned out in numbers at Vоскресенском. Anyone know the exact route they took this time?

In the choir of the church in Chisinau, I sang the akathist to "Empress of all" several times, but I have never been on such a long journey.
