On the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Archbishop Theodore celebrated the Liturgy in the Transfiguration Church of the Holy Kazan Conventtranslated

On August 19, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, Archbishop Theodore of Peter and Paul and Kamchatka celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Transfiguration Church of the Holy Kazan Convent of the diocese. Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Hieromonk Nestor (Smirnov), Secretary of the Diocesan Administration; Priest Vitaly Levkovsky, cleric of the Holy Trinity Church in Elizovo, hieromonks of the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery Savva and Anatoly.
The hymns of the Liturgy were performed by the sisters of the monastery, the regent nun Pelageya (Efimushkina). On this day, the miraculous icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness” was delivered to the monastery.
At the special litany, the Archpastor offered prayers to the Lord for Holy Rus' and a prayer against earthquakes. Following the prayer behind the pulpit, Archbishop Theodore blessed the grapes and fruits brought to the church by parishioners and pilgrims. At the end of the service, the Head of the diocese addressed those gathered with an archpastoral word.
Mother Superior Maria thanked Vladyka for the visit, for the joint prayer, and gave him a bouquet of flowers.
