In Gomel, schoolchildren discussed the meaning of peace and love for one's neighbortranslated

On September 14, 2026, in the library-branch No. 14 of Gomel, a conversation was held with 6th grade students of secondary school No. 15, dedicated to the International Day of Peace. The meeting was led by a Sunday school teacher at the parish of the Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky in Gomel, I. V. Ignatovich.
The teacher spoke about the history of the International Day of Peace, which is celebrated on September 21, and its symbol - a dove with an olive branch in its beak. Schoolchildren discussed the value of peaceful life and friendship between peoples, talked about patriotism, love for the Motherland, kindness and mercy.
In conclusion, I. V. Ignatovich recalled the biblical commandment “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The teacher emphasized that neglecting love for one's neighbor leads to conflicts and wars.
