America's Hopeful: Artificial Intelligence Can Form the Words of a Prayer, But It Can't Praytranslated

"Our attitude towards Artificial Intelligence should be characterized neither by fear nor by uncritical enthusiasm. Our Church had better remind the modern world that not everything can be calculated and that not everything that looks or sounds intelligent has real wisdom." These remarks were made by Archbishop of America Elpidophoros in the context of the annual academic meeting of the Hellenic College of the Theological School of the Holy Cross at the Malliote Cultural Center in Boston. The Archbishop of America welcomed the largest class in the school's history and emphasized that the real purpose of education is not limited to the transmission of information, but is primarily concerned with the formation of man. In fact, he urged the students to make use of the new technologies and to learn from them without, however, handing over the work and the personal effort that belongs to them.

TN, he noted, "can compose the words of a prayer but cannot pray", while pointing out to them the uniqueness and value of the human person who is a living image of the living God.
