Saint Pancratius defended the city with a cross in his hand, that is strong. We have his icon in our church, but it is rarely mentioned. Interestingly, was it exactly in Tavromenia or was it transferred later?

Yes, Stepan, his icon is in our church in Ohrid, in the southern part, near the icon of St. Kliment. I remember last year at the liturgy the priest mentioned that he really saved Tavromenium from the attack with the cross. It is interesting that here in Macedonia we celebrate together with SOC.

Yes, Stepan, it was in Tauromenium, in Sicily. He became a bishop there under the apostles Peter and Paul, and when the pagans attacked the city, he came out with a cross and prayer - and the enemies retreated.
