The list of the miraculous Don Icon of the Mother of God was delivered to Volgogradtranslated

On the morning of September 12, 2026, on the day of remembrance of the holy noble prince Alexander Nevsky, a copy of the miraculous Don Icon of the Mother of God arrived in Volgograd. The shrine was delivered by water along the Volga-Don Canal on the motor ship “Tsaritsyn” from the Kalachevsk diocese, where the icon stayed on September 9 and 10.

The shrine was accompanied by Bishop John of Kalachevsky and Pallasovsky, the military priest of the All-Great Don Army, the head of the department for interaction with the Cossacks of the Rostov-on-Don diocese, Archpriest Georgy Smorkalov, and the staff cleric of the Patriarchal Ascension Military All-Cossack Cathedral, Deacon Alexander Mashtanov.
