Archpriest Alexius Budrin, protoierey, 1861–1918

Alexius Ivanovich Budrin was born on February 4/17, 1861 in the village of Sylvin'skoye in Kungursky Uyezd, Perm Governorate, to the family of protoierey Ioann Simeonovich Budrin. He graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary. In 1881 he entered into marriage. From August 6, 1882, he served as a deacon, and from January 19, 1883, as an archierey on various parishes in Perm and Ekaterinburg Dioceses.

In 1886, at the age of 25, Archpriest Alexius Budrin became a member of the district council of the first district of Krasno-Ufimsk. The following year he was transferred to serve in this city in the church dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius near the real school, where he began teaching the Law of God and Church Slavonic language. In 1887, on the Uralo-Siberian Scientific-Industrial Exhibition, this school received a large Gold Medal.

Moreover, Archpriest Alexius immediately became a teacher in the Russian-Bashkir agricultural school, where children acquired both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Soon he was also appointed as a member of the Krasno-Ufimsk District Educational Council of the Diocesan School Board.

In September 1890, Archpriest Alexius was transferred to serve in the main church...
