“The most correct way is prayer”: the head of the Missionary Department of the Ekaterinburg Diocese, Priest Daniil Ryabinin - on how to approach the shrine with spiritual benefittranslated

On the eve of the bringing of the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt to the Ural capital, the head of the Missionary Department of the Ekaterinburg Diocese, Priest Daniil Ryabinin, spoke about how to approach the shrine with spiritual benefit:

– You will probably need to spend some time in line to see the holy relics, and so that this time is not idle, it is important to think in advance how to spend it to your advantage.

The most correct way is prayer: you can take with you an akathist, a prayer book or the Holy Gospel.

During the entire time, virtually continuously, divine services will be performed in the church, an akathist will be read - you can listen to them and pray, maintain reverent order, and when directly approaching the shrine, do not create congestion, remember about other brothers and sisters who are also in line behind you.

Dress according to church tradition. Girls should refrain from wearing bright makeup and painted lips. If you are with children, then think about their comfortable stay so that you can spend this time without irritation and fuss.

Ultimately, we must remember: by honoring the holy relics of the saint of God, we glorify the prototype, that is, God Himself, His grace that God gives...

It is good that Father Daniil mentioned the prayer in order. I usually carry Spyridon's akathist in my bag, so when I wait, I read it slowly and the time passes with meaning. And he is right about children - if they are calm, it is easier for everyone around them.

Yes, Father Daniil rightly said about the prayer in redot. I also carry the akathist of Spiridon with me, especially when I bake kosunatsi for the holiday and wait for them to rise. And for the children - that's right, last year I took my grandson to church and gave him a prayer book so that he wouldn't run around and annoy the people around him.
