The holy maidens Minodora, Mitrodora and Nymphodora (305 – 311), sisters, came from Bithynia (Asia Minor). Distinguished by their special piety, the Christian sisters wished to maintain a virgin life and not come into contact with the world. They chose a secluded place in the desert and spent their lives in feats of fasting and prayer. The fame of the holy lives of the girls soon spread, as healings of the sick began to take place through their prayers.
