On September 18, 2026, celebrations were held in Brest to mark the feast day of the commemoration of the martyrdom of the Holy Martyr and Monastic Athanasius, Abbot of Brest, intercessor and patron of Berestetska land.
In the evening of September 17, Archbishop of Brest and Kobrin John led the festive all-night vigil in the Cathedral of St. Simeon the Stylite in Brest.
In the morning on the feast day, a traditional procession was held from the walls of the Cathedral of St. Simeon the Stylite in Brest to the place of the martyrdom of Saint Athanasius of Brest.
