Pilgrims in line to see the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky were urged to be patienttranslated

The Organizing Committee for bringing the shrine to the capital's Cathedral of Christ the Savior urged pilgrims to be patient while in line to the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimythous.

“We ask you to take care of yourself and your loved ones in advance: be patient and prepare everything you need,” the Organizing Committee said in a message dated September 18, 2026.

They explained that “the path to the shrine is work and prayer, and it requires strength. Everyone has their own, and it’s important to remember.”

“We ask that people who find it difficult to stand for a long time and families with young children treat themselves with special care,” added the organizers of the bringing of the shrine.

The Organizing Committee clarified that by the evening of September 17, the wait in line reached 8-10 hours, and on September 18, according to operational data, the estimated wait time in line was at least six hours. At the same time, people continue to stay, so this time may change upward.

“Waiting for many hours is difficult for adults, and especially for children. When volunteers help those who have a particularly hard time get through faster, the wait time for others increases. We ask you to be thoughtful and weigh your strengths in advance, especially if you are going to come with little ones...
