Pilgrimage trip to the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

On September 23, a pilgrimage trip took place for parishioners of the Kazan Church in the village of Glebovo, together with the rector, Archpriest Alexander Cheprasov, to the Main Church of the Armed Forces of Russia in the name of the Resurrection of Christ, where during these days the miraculous Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God temporarily resided. The pilgrims visited the lower and upper churches, venerated the shrines, and submitted notes. Father Alexander served a prayer service with an akathist to the Tikhvin Icon.

Then the group went to the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery in Zvenigorod. Climbing the monastery mountain, the pilgrims felt a special atmosphere of silence and tranquility, as if time flowed differently here.

As part of the excursion, participants got acquainted with the life and feat of St. Savva of Storozhevsky, learned about his intercession for the monastery, visited the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and venerated the holy relics of St. Savva. Of particular interest was the ascent to the bell tower: there they told about the history of the Great Annunciation Bell - from its casting in the 17th century to its reconstruction today.
