On September 26, the Orthodox Church remembers the celebration of the consecration of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem, built by Equal-to-the-Apostles Constantine the Great and his mother Equal-to-the-Apostles Queen Helen, which is also called the Renewal of the Church.

The Church of the Resurrection of Christ is the place where the cave (coffin) is located, in which the Body of the crucified Jesus Christ was laid. The walls of this vast church enclose the place of the Savior’s crucifixion - Mount Golgotha, and the place of His burial - the Holy Sepulcher. It was here that Christ rose from the dead, and here His Cross was found and erected for universal worship.

At the beginning of the 4th century, the cave was found only because the pagans, trying to erase the memory of Jesus Christ, built the Temple of Jupiter Capitolinus on the site of the Holy Sepulcher.

The Romans were a very accurate people, they kept archival records, so the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great - Queen Helena - could only look into the Roman archives to find the burial place of Jesus.

The pagan temple was dismantled, and in its place the Church of the Resurrection of Christ was built, which was consecrated.
