Consecration of the Municipal Educational Institution Malivo Secondary School 09/07/2026translated

September 7, 2026 · 1 min read

On September 7, 2026, the diocesan missionary of the Kolomna diocese from the 3rd Kolomna deanery district, rector of the Trinity Church in the village of Trinity Ozerki, Priest Nikolai Davydov, at the invitation of the leadership of the educational institution, performed the rite of consecration of the Malivo Secondary School. Before the consecration, Father Nikolai addressed the leadership, teaching staff and students of the school with a parting word, in which he emphasized that knowledge itself cannot make a person happy, but a feeling of true happiness can visit our hearts if the knowledge gained serves deeds of goodness and mercy, for the benefit of the family, society and the state. The priest walked around the school with prayer and sprinkled holy water on the classrooms, teachers' offices, the dining room, the sports hall and the assembly hall. Issues of further interaction in the field of spiritual and moral education of the younger generation were also discussed with the school director Svetlana Alekseevna Kalinina.

At school we were taught that knowledge alone does not bring happiness - and father Nikolaus Davydov reiterated that really well today. The discussion with the director Svetlana Alekseevna Kalinina about the spiritual and moral education of children sounds reasonable, especially if it continues in the cafeteria and in the sports hall. I hope the students remember the holy sprinkling of water as more than just wet fun.
