October 3, 2026 · 1 min read

Bulgaria today received the bones of Tsar Samuel in an official state ceremony in the center of Sofia. Earlier today, the body was flown by military transport aircraft from Thessaloniki to Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia. The ceremony was attended by His Beatitude Patriarch of Bulgaria Mr. Daniel, while then they went in procession to I.N. Hagia Sophia in Sofia, where the Blessed Sacrament was celebrated.

Then the remains of the Bulgarian ruler were placed in a specially made sarcophagus inside the Holy Church.
