Archbishop Hieronymos presided over the Memorial of the Lord Hymnoid Georgios Hatzichronogloutranslated

In a climate of deep emotion, religious fervor and universal respect, the 4th Holy Memorial Service of the late, leading Teacher and iconic Choir Georgios Hatzichronoglou, Principal Chant and Master Hymnist of the Great Church of Christ (M.t.X.E.), was held today in the Holy Church of the Ascension Vrilission. At the previous Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Hieronymos, who then came forward and himself performed the holy service of the Memorial.
His Beatitude, visibly moved, spoke with words of heart and deep appreciation for his precious and distinguished friend, Georgios Chatzichronoglou. In his speech he praised his rare morals, his unparalleled contribution to the Church and the art of chanting, as well as his integrity, shocking the congregation with his personal and moving reference to this great man.
