Serron Theologos: "Faith and patience in the trials of life"translated

In the holy Church of St. John the Theologian, in the amphitheater of the Orthodox Christian Brotherhood "LYDIA" in Asprovalta, Rev. Metropolitan of Serres and Nigrite, Mr. Theologos, today, Sunday, August 2, 2026, with the prayerful presence of the Mayor of Volvi, Mr. Diamantis Liamas, municipal and regional Councilors, many members of the "LYDIA" Brotherhood, after the prefect of Mary and a large number of pious Christians. His Holiness, inspired by today's Gospel passage: "At that time, Jesus forced his disciples to get into the ship..." (Mt. iv' 22-34), as well as by the Apostolic reading of the day: "Brothers, we are God's fellow workers; God, George, God ἰικοδομί ἐστε..." (1 Cor. 3 9-17), referred to the power of prayer, perseveration, patience and above all faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ, who animates, purifies, illuminates, sanctifies, continues and preserves the most holy, God-human institution of the holy Church in an indissoluble unity.

Thanks for the article. I especially remember how Vladyka spoke about the “tricumese” life with temptations from our own passions - this is right to the point, it happens to me when fishing on the Volga, you sit in a boat, and the waves from the boats just throw you around. It’s good that they reminded us about the power of patience and prayer, without it we couldn’t do it.
