A new cooperation page for the Orthodox Orphanage of Mazugatranslated

With the blessing of Christ and the blessing of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa etc. Theodore II, the Holy Diocese of Matzouga and Northern Madagascar is proceeding with an important new collaboration for the Orthodox Orphanage of Matzouga. This cooperation has already started in practice, with the aim of supporting the children, improving their living conditions and upgrading the work of the institution.

The Orphanage is an important part of the history of the Orthodox Mission in Madagascar. The building was erected at the expense of the Philoptochus Brotherhood of Men of Thessaloniki, under the presidency of Theodoros I. Dardavesis, as evidenced by the commemorative plaque located in the foundation and bearing the date of January 21, 2011.

Cooperation with the Municipality and local authorities has already begun, with the prospect of the official assignment of the management of the Orphanage to the Holy Diocese of Matzouga and Northern Madagascar.

The Mayor has welcomed the proposal with a particularly positive spirit and has expressed his willingness to support this cooperation. For the final and official assignment of management, however, we await the decision of the Municipal Council.
