Maintenance of Sacred Icons at the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Church of the Evangelistria of Nafpliontranslated

These days, at the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Church of Evangelistria in Nafplion, specialized art conservators from the Ministry of Culture are carrying out conservation work on the museum's sacred icons. This important project is implemented at the expense of the Ministry of Culture, essentially contributing to the rescue and promotion of our ecclesiastical and cultural heritage.

The following photos show typical examples of the impressive difference BEFORE and AFTER the maintenance. With scientific knowledge, special diligence and respect for the history of each work, the sacred icons regain their form and luster, while at the same time ensuring their protection and preservation for future generations.

The preservation of our sacred relics is a debt to the history, faith and culture of our country. We express our warm thanks to the Ministry of Culture and its conservators for the valuable work they carry out.

Very nice job. The difference between the before and after photo is clear, especially in the colors and faces. May God give them health to the experts, and we thank the Ministry for the expenses.

Well done. In these photos you can see how dark the faces and robes were, and after cleaning the colors immediately came to life. I'm glad that the state gives money for such things, because it really is our common heritage.
