Batskas Irenaios: Metamorphosis was primarily a transformation of the studentstranslated

On the day of the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, according to the old calendar, August 19, 2026, a Divine Liturgy was held in the Holy Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Novi Sad. The celebration was presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Batska Mr. Irenaios, co-celebrant of the Theophilist Bishop Mohaj Mr. Damaskinos, the clergy of the church in question and the deacons of Novi Sad.

After the reading of the Gospel passage, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Batska Mr. Irenaios in his sermon pointed out the importance and meaning of the feast of the Transfiguration of Christ and, among other things, said:

"The Transfiguration of the Lord does not mean that the Lord Jesus Christ changed in any way in His existence. God is always unchanging, equal to Himself. As the holy evangelist John says, "God was never seen; the only begotten son, who was in the bosom of the father, he was explained", reveals Him, makes Him accessible, present not only somewhere around us but also inside us, and in front of us, and makes Him visible in this miraculous, kind way. This is a spiritual vision. And it was with such a vision and sight that the Lord showed Himself...
