General Assembly of the vicars of the Holy Metropolis of Serrestranslated

A General Meeting of the priests of the Serre Church took place today, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the church camp "GALILEA" of the Holy Metropolis of Serres and Nigritis, in Chrysopigi Serres. After the end of the Liturgy, officiated by Rev. Metropolitan of Serres and Mr. Nigritis Theologus, in the holy Chapel of St. Twelve Apostles and Hos. Silouanos of Athonitos, the Consecration ceremony was held, upon entering the new church year. Afterwards, a rich breakfast was served to all the clergy present.

Subsequently, the Most Reverend Pastor of the Serres and Nigritis Church, Mr. Theologos, on the occasion of the entry into the new union of the Lord's goodness, developed, with patristic and hagiographical references, thoughts useful for the upcoming spiritual, sanctifying and missionary work of the clergy.

His Eminence spoke to the clergy about the soul-damaging scope of divisions, schisms, selfish self-sufficiency and self-referentiality, exhorting them to simultaneously preserve theophilestate, as he characteristically noted, humility, ecclesiastical unity and eutaxia.

Qué bien que hayan empezado el año eclesiástico con la Liturgia y el Agiasmo en la capilla de los Doce Apóstoles y San Silvano. Me llamó la atención lo que dijo el metropolita sobre evitar las divisiones y la autosuficiencia egoísta; es algo que vemos hasta en las parroquias pequeñas. Ojalá todos guardemos esa humildad y unidad que menciona.

Καλή η αναφορά του Σεβασμιωτάτου για την ταπείνωση και την ενότητα, γιατί οι διαιρέσεις ξεκινάνε συχνά από μικρές εγωιστικές κουβέντες μέσα στις ενορίες. Το πρωινό κέρασμα μετά τον Αγιασμό στη Γαλιλαία θα ήταν ό,τι πρέπει, φαντάζομαι έφτιαξαν και κανένα καλό τυρόπιτακια. Να έχουμε όλοι δύναμη για το νέο εκκλησιαστικό έτος.

Хороше, що після Літургії в капличці Дванадцяти Апостолів і преп. Силуана відразу зробили Агіасму на початок нового церковного року. Митрополит правильно наголосив на тому, щоб уникати егоїстичної самодостатності — це справді камінь спотикання навіть у невеликих парафіях. А сніданок після того, мабуть, був смачний, особливо якщо були домашні пироги.

Так, згодна, Агіасма одразу після Літургії в капличці Дванадцяти Апостолів і преп. Силуана — це найкращий початок року. А от егоїстична самодостатність у парафіях справді нищить, у нас на Харківщині теж таке траплялося, поки не почали більше радитися між собою. А які пироги були, Микола, чи хтось згадував? 😊

Estoy de acuerdo, Pablo. Ese punto sobre la autosuficiencia egoísta me hizo pensar en las veces que en nuestra parroquia alguien quiere hacer las cosas a su manera sin consultar al resto. La humildad que pide el metropolita es lo que mantiene todo en pie, como cuando preparamos las galletas para la fiesta y cada una aporta su receta sin imponer. ¿Has visto algo parecido en tu parroquia?

So, after the Liturgy in the chapel of the Twelve Apostles and Rev. Silouana Agiasma really sets the right tone for the whole year. Here in Vinnytsia, the metropolitan also always emphasizes the avoidance of selfish self-sufficiency, because even good deeds can become useless because of it. As for the pies, I wonder if they were cheese or poppy, because I always bake them for our church gatherings.
