Giannitsa: Edessis Ioel at the feast of Agios Paisiostranslated

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the Reverend Metropolitan of Edessa, Pelli and Almopia, Mr. Ioel, officiated at the open-air solemn Vespers, which was celebrated in memory of Saint Paisios the Agioreitos in the forecourt of the holy parish church of Saint George, within which there is a chapel dedicated to the memory of the great saint of our days. Panosiol preached the divine word. Archimandrite Panteleimon Karalazos, Synodal Preacher of the I. Metropolis, highlighting the virtue of love for God and love for fellow man that the Blessed One cultivated throughout his life in combination with humility, which he himself considered the foundation of spiritual life.

The same evening in the holy church, at 10.00 pm, there was a Vigil in the holy chapel, while on Sunday morning (12/7) Orthros and solemn Divine Liturgy were celebrated in the holy church of Agios Georgios.

The High Priestly Commissioner of Giannitsa and Head of the parish, Protopr. Ioannis Spyridis, the vicars of the church and other clergy of the area, while a large number of believers flocked to honor the Saint and worship his sacred relics, which are kept in the celebrating holy chapel.
