September 3: Feast of Saint Phoebetranslated

Today, the Church honors the memory of the Hieromartyr Bishops Anthimos Nikomedeias (†302), Saint Phoebe, Aristion of Alexandria and the Neomartyr Polydorus of Cyprus (†1794), who was born in the 18th century in Nicosia within the walls, parish of Archangel Michael of Trypiotis.

Saint Phoebe: The fervent Deaconess of Corinth In the ancient church, the institution of deaconesses had been established early on. This is the first social recognition of women in history.
