The summer festival of Agios Vlasios in the Holy Metropolis of Nafpaktostranslated
On August 17th, Saint Vlasios of Parakambylion, of the Municipality of Agrini, celebrates the memory of the miracle by which Saint Vlasios, Bishop of Sebastia, saved the village from the destructive fury of the Agarines, alerting the villagers to the arrival of the enemy. The beautiful area of Agios Vlasios, basically mountainous, belongs administratively to the Municipality of Agrini and ecclesiastically to the Holy Metropolis of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios. It is located on the border of Aitoloakarnania with Evrytania and the route from Nafpaktos takes about two hours through Messolonghi and Agrini. On the eve of the feast, Sunday August 16, 2026, a solemn Vespers was celebrated with a divine sermon by Archimandrite Fr.
