The Metropolis of Kastoria commemorated the Asia Minor Disastertranslated

On the weekend of September 19 and 20, 2026, the Holy Metropolis of Kastoria commemorated, as every year, the memory of the Asia Minor Catastrophe and the victims of Asia Minor Hellenism. On Saturday afternoon, in the Holy Church of Agios Nikanoros of Kastoria, a solemn High Priestly Vespers was held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kastoria Mr. Kallinikos and with the participation of many clergymen of the Holy Metropolis. During Vespers, Artoklasia was also performed.

On Sunday, September 20, the Orthros and the solemn High Priestly Divine Liturgy were celebrated, officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kastoria, Mr. Kallinikos.

Early in the morning, according to tradition, the reception of Saint Sophia of Kleisoura took place, which was a child of Asia Minor Hellenism and the blessed Pontus, bringing to Kastoria the living memory of the unforgettable homelands.

At the Divine Liturgy, after His Holiness, G.A.E. Fr. Eleftherios Stylidis, Fr. Vasilios Boyatzis, as well as the Deacon of the Holy Metropolis, Fr. Nikodimos Provatidis.
