The Holy Diocese of Larissa and the Municipality join forces to strengthen religious tourismtranslated

With the wishes and blessing of the Venerable Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ieronymos, a meeting was held between the heads of the newly established Religious Tourism Sector of the Holy Metropolis of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Protopresbyter Fr. Ioannis Katranidis and Mr. Athanasios Chrysovergis, with the Deputy Mayor of Finance, Tourism and Outreach of the Municipality of Larissa, Mr. Fotis Tzatzakis, in his office at the Town Hall. The meeting was held in a particularly cordial and creative atmosphere, confirming the shared desire for close cooperation between the Holy Metropolis and the Municipality of Larissa with the aim of highlighting and promoting the rich religious and cultural heritage of Larissa.

During the discussion, the special interest shown by both the Reverend Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ieronymos, and the Mayor of Larissa, Mr. Athanasios Mamakos, was highlighted for the development of religious tourism, as an important pillar of highlighting the history, spiritual tradition and cultural identity of the region.

Николай КозловIt’s good that the metropolis and the mayor’s office got down to business together. Specifically, I liked that the new department for religious tourism has already started working with Fathers Ioann Katranidis and Athanasius Chrysoverghi. I hope that normal routes to monasteries and temples will appear in Larisa, so that people will not just come, but will actually be able to see and honor the shrines.
