HIERARCHY 2026: The annual Regular Convocation begins tomorrow – The agenda and the debate on the election of Assistant Bishopstranslated

The Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece meets from Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th October 2026, in its Annual Regular Assembly, at the Synodal Palace in Athens. On the morning of Tuesday, October 6, and from 6:30 to 8:30, a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Synodal Chapel of the Most Grand Order, Catholic of the Holy Monastery of the Incorporeal Petrakis, under the youngest order of the members of the seventh Hierarchy, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corinth, Mr. Pavlos.

At 9:00 a.m. the work of the Conference will begin with the established opening Holy Mass in the Great Synod.

Afterwards, His Beatitude Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Mr. Ieronymos, President of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy, will address the Reverend Synodal Convenors, while the first-ranking member of the Synod, His Eminence Metropolitan of Karystia and Skyros, Mr. Seraphim, will competently object.

This will be followed by the election of the Committee of High Priests for the announcements to the press and the Proceedings Reports of the Synodal Committees under their Reverend Presidents for the church year 2025-2026 will be presented.
