The Metropolitan of Arkalochori at the celebratory Holy Church of Agia Zoni in Agies Paraskiestranslated

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, the eve of the Feast of the Deposition of the Holy Belt of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Arkalochori, Kastelli and Viannos Mr. Andreas went to the Holy Church of the same name in Agies Paraskies, where he officiated at the solemn Vespers. Afterwards, His Holiness blessed the offered breads and preached the divine word to the large congregation, referring to the importance of the feast and the grace and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Before the dismissal, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Arkalochori, Kastelli and Viannos, Mr. Andreas, spiritually ordained the new vicar of the parish, Protopresbyter Eleftherios Skoulas, who assumed his new duties after the appointment of the new Proconsul of our Holy Metropolis.

His Eminence congratulated Father Eleftherios on taking up his new ministry and wished him that God, through the embassies of the Most Holy Theotokos, would strengthen and strengthen him. Among others, the Authorized Regional Councilor, ITE Professor Mr. Giorgos Papadakis was present.

Father Andreas did well to ordain Fr. Eleftherios right there at the feast. The new priest has big shoes to fill after the old protopresbyter became protosynkellos. May the Theotokos give him strength, especially with all those people showing up for the vespers and the artoklasia.

I agree, the timing felt right with everyone already gathered for the feast. Fr. Eleftherios has been around the parish long enough that the people seem to trust him, which helps. I lit a candle for him at our Bible study last night.
