The contract was signed for the project to support the road to the Holy Monastery of Eimyalontranslated

On Monday, October 5, the contract for the assignment of the project for the restoration of the road leading from Paleochori to the Holy Monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos of Aymialon was signed between the Municipality of Gortynia with the representative of the Mayor, Mr. Efstathios Koulis, of Development Arcadia SA. – AOTA" represented by the Managing Director Mr. Panagiotis Valasopoulos, and of the Holy Monastery of Eimyalon, represented by the Professor Archimandrite Father Damascenes and in the presence of the General Hierarchal Commissioner of the Holy Metropolis of Gortynos and Megalopolis the Panosiology Archimandrite Father Iosif. The signing completes the process that began with the decision of the Municipal Committee, at the meeting of September 15, to approve the programming agreement between the Municipality, "Development Arcadia S.A. – AOTA" and of the Monastery. The road of about 200 meters is the only road access to the monument.

In recent years, it has been affected by landslides, rockfalls and subsidence, as a result of which the crossing becomes unsafe for visitors and believers.
