Patriarchate of Jerusalem: Extraordinary Synod for the Holy Monastery of Agios Gerasimos of Jordantranslated
An emergency meeting was held yesterday, Wednesday, August 20, 2026, under the Chairmanship of His Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Excellency. Theofilos, with the main topic being the health condition of the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Agios Gerasimos of Jordan, Elder Chrysostomos and the uninterrupted operation of the Holy Monastery. The Synod of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem decided to set up a three-member committee in order to preserve order and ensure the orderly operation of the Holy Monastery. The committee consists of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Capitolias Mr. Issychios, the Elder Draguman Archimandrite Mattheos and Archimandrite Christodoulos.
The task of the committee is the temporary care and supervision of the issues of the Monastery in general as well as the appropriate settlement of issues that will arise.
