Saint Athanasios Hamakiotis: A Modern Sainttranslated

Today, August 17, our Church celebrates the memory of Saint Athanasios of Hamakiotis. The Holy and Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Throne of Constantinople, under the presidency of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew, during the Session of November 16, 2023, decided the classification in the Hagiologium of the Orthodox Church of the Hieromonk Athanasios (Hamakiotou), founder of the Holy Hermitage of Panagia Faneromenis in Rodopolis, Attica and vicar for many years of the historic Holy Church of Panagia Neranziotsis Amarousi.
The Metropolitan of Kifissia, Mr. Kyrillos, speaks to the journalist Dimitris Stroumbakos, moved about the life of Saint Athanasios Hamakiotis (1891-1967), about the miraculous events before and after his sleep, as well as about the shocking moments of the collection of his remains in the Hermitage of Panagia Faneromeni in Rodopoli, Attica.
