Archbishop Sava celebrated the funeral Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christtranslated

On August 17, His Eminence Archbishop Savva of Tiraspol and Dubossary led the service of the funeral Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ. His Eminence was served by the clergyman and clergy of the cathedral. During the service, intense prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the ever-remembered servant of God Antonina, the mother of the Ruling Bishop, who was eleven years old from the day of her repose. On this memorable day, the Archpastor, together with the clergy and worshippers, prayerfully honored the memory of the deceased, asking the Lord for mercy and forgiveness of sins for her. Funeral prayer occupies a special place in the life of the Church. Offering prayers for the deceased, Orthodox Christians entrust their souls to the mercy of God and ask the Lord to forgive the sins they committed voluntarily or unwittingly and to grant them eternal peace. After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, a memorial service was celebrated for the ever-remembered servant of God Antonina.
Following the requiem, Archbishop Sava, the clergy and believers asked for the deceased “the mercy of God, the Kingdom of Heaven and the forgiveness of sins,” prayerfully committing her soul into the hands of the Lord.
