The Greek Red Cross to the homeless of Piraeustranslated

The Homeless Programs Service of the Hellenic Red Cross (E.E.S.), due to the particularly high temperatures prevailing these days and in the context of developing targeted interventions to provide information and directions regarding the appropriate measures to protect the homeless from high temperatures, implemented an extraordinary action of active approach, support and distribution of support material (streetwork) to the homeless of Piraeus, on Tuesday 28 July 2026. The action of the Social Welfare Sector of the E.E.S. developed in areas of the city of Piraeus, in which, following systematic weekly mapping, an increased number of our homeless fellow citizens have been identified, who are supported on a constant basis by the Service.

The mobile echelons of the E.E.S., staffed with specialized professional staff (social worker & psychologist) and with the support of well-trained volunteers of the Speciality of Social Welfare and Samaritans-Rescuers of the E.E.S., moved in the areas: Aktis Miaouli, Aktis Poseidonos, Odissou Square, Karaiskaki Square, Korai Square, 2 Division, Terpsithea, Evangelistria, Hippodamia Square, Alipedou, Kerani, for...
