Educational event in Nizhnyaya Tura for the Day of the Baptism of Rus'translated

On July 28, 2026, on the day of remembrance of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and on the feast of the Baptism of Rus', an educational event organized by the parish of the Church of the Three Saints was held in the city of Nizhnyaya Tura.

The initiator of the event was the rector of the temple, Priest Sergius Klivekin. Together with active parishioners, the priest walked through the streets of the city, telling residents about the historical significance of the Baptism of Rus'.

During the event, citizens were given information flyers. The materials collected and refuted common myths about the Baptism of Rus' - based on chronicle sources and the opinions of historians. At the same time, the participants of the action did not limit themselves to distributing leaflets: they willingly answered questions from passers-by, helping to take a fresh look at a familiar event.

The action found a special response among young residents of the city. On the main street, a girl of about eight approached the group. She took the flyer, looked carefully at the image of Prince Vladimir and asked: “Who is this? Is he like a king? Priest Sergius briefly and clearly explained that Prince Vladimir was not a king, but became a great ruler who led Rus' to Christianity and thereby changed the fate of the people. The girl listened very carefully, and then asked for another one...
