Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Matthew I Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of the Lord in Tirana, presided over by the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and all Albania, etc. Ioannou.  In his sermon, the Archbishop of Tirana, on the occasion of the Gospel passage, emphasized that "the Lord was transformed on Mount Tabor, where everything shone with the uncreated divine light, and showed us our final destination: all people are precisely called to become partakers of the divine nature".

And he went on to focus on the responsibility of parents to guide and create a spiritual environment for children, saying, "Infidelity always brings great spiritual problems and diseases because it creates a poisoned place, a spiritually toxic place. Just as it is in the material sense, if we go to polluted places, we will undoubtedly be polluted.
