Diocese of Austria: The TikTok account with the name of Metropolitan Arsenios is an online scamtranslated

The Holy Diocese of Austria informs users not to follow accounts on TikTok that use the name or photo of Metropolitan Mr. Arseniou, as these accounts are fake. At the same time, the Holy Metropolis calls on the faithful not to respond to messages or requests from such fake accounts, while all legal measures are already being taken to prosecute these cases of online fraud.

The announcement of the Diocese of Austria in detail:

"We inform the users of the social networking medium TikTok that any account that uses the name, title or photo of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Austria and Exarch of Hungary Mr. Arsenios, without the official approval of the Holy Metropolis, is false and is not connected in any way to the Holy Metropolis of Austria.

The faithful are requested not to follow, not to communicate and not to respond to messages or requests that come from such false accounts, which aim at misleading the public and abusing the identity of His Holiness.

Жаль, что такие мошенники не стесняются даже митрополита. У нас в группе тоже недавно появился фейковый аккаунт с фото отца настоятеля. Лучше сразу блокировать и не отвечать, как и пишут в объявлении.

У нас в Воронеже тоже такое было с одним батюшкой из соседнего храма — фейк в телеге писал от его имени и просил «на нужды». Блокируешь сразу, и всё. Правильно митрополия предупредила, спасибо.

U nás v Michalovciach sa to isté stalo s jedným kňazom na Facebooku, prosil o peniaze „na opravu“. Hneď som to nahlásila a zablokovala. Dobré, že metropolia to jasne napísala, aby ľudia neodpovedali.

Same thing happened here in Ottawa last year with a fake account using our bishop’s photo on Facebook. I just blocked it right away and reported it, like the Metropolis says. Good they put out a clear warning.
