✤ Saint Theophanes the Little Wonderworker ✤

He was born at the beginning of the sixteenth century in Ioannina, Epirus, to a pious family. He joined the Dochiariou Monastery, on Holy Mountain Athos, as a young man. Saint Theophanes the Younger was born in Ioannina, as the text says. I was impressed that he left Mount Athos with his nephew so that the other monks would not be in danger from the Turks. He then went to the region of Veria and quietly continued his life. Interesting how he kept the athonic way even away from Mt.
