"Exodus to Immortality": Theatrical performance in Thermo for the 200th anniversary of the Exodus of Messolonghitranslated

In an atmosphere of deep emotion, national pride and ecclesiastical enthusiasm, the anniversary event for the 200th anniversary of the Heroic Exodus of Messolonghi took place in Thermos, on Sunday October 4, 2026, in the event hall of the Town Hall, with the presentation of the theatrical performance "Exodus to Immortality". The event, which was held under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania, with the participation of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Thermo, captivated the large audience, mentally transporting them to the glorious but also martyred moments of 1822 and 1826.

At the opening, the First Chancellor Archim addressed a greeting. Theoklitos Raptis, who had the inspiration and overall supervision of the always successful event. The Mayor of Thermo, Mr. Spyros Konstandaras, also addressed a greeting.

"If there are moments that shatter logic, people who can hide the sun, places that freeze the breathing of the earth... then Messolonghi is the only city that, in the Struggle of 1821, lived its most tragic moments and reached the martyrdom and absolute peak of its self-sacrifice."
