On this day, the Holy Church commemorates:

*The Seven Young Saints sleeping in Ephesus.*Martyr Evdokia of Asia Minor.*Martyr Eleftherios of Constantinople.*St. Righteous Molloa of Ireland.*Martyr Tertullinus of Rome.*New Martyr Michael Zokh of Russia.*The new Russian martyrs Dmitry and Simeon Vorobyev.

✤ The martyr Avdokia of Asia Minor ✤

Its origin is from Asia Minor. The Persians captured her and took her to their country. Her knowledge of the Bible was exceptional. This allowed her to share the Word of God with her family comrades. There were many Persian women who attained the knowledge of God through her. News of her reached the authorities, so they arrested and prosecuted her. I beat her with cow nerves and put her in prison. She was put on trial again, two months later, and she boldly confessed Christ as a Haqqani God. They returned and beat her with spiked sticks until her flesh was torn and her blood splattered. She was locked in prison for another six months. When she was brought before the judges again, she was not weak, but rather steadfast in her faith as she was the first time. They tried, again, to tear her apart and break her bones, but when they left her half dead, with little soul. Finally, her head was cut off.

Note: It was said that she and nine thousand others died of martyrdom.
