The Metropolitan of Belgium to King Philiptranslated

Brussels – Today, His Majesty Philippe, King of the Belgians, received at the Royal Palace of Brussels the highest representatives of the recognized religious communities of Belgium. Among them was the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg Mr. Athenagoras, as a representative of all the Orthodox Christians of Belgium.

During the meeting, among other things, there was a discussion about the important role of religious leaders in strengthening social cohesion and in dealing with contemporary social challenges.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Justice of Belgium Mrs. Annelies Verlinden, responsible for recognized religious communities.
