Bishop Michael of Australia and New Zealand on Monday blessed the work on a new socio-cultural hall of the "St. Ignatius Theophorus" Parish in Auckland, New Zealand, which is in the final stage of the works.

On this occasion, His Eminence officiated the Holy Liturgy for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, together with Father Mircea Mihai Corpodean and Father Ovidiu Motofelea, from the "St. George" Parish in Hamilton.

The hierarch emphasized the place of the cross in the Christian's life, showing the need to preserve the faith and the connection with the Church, including in Romanian communities in the diaspora.

A new space for the community The social-cultural hall, made with the support of the Department for Romanians Everywhere, will complement the infrastructure of the Auckland Parish and will host pastoral, catechetical, educational, cultural and social activities.

His Holiness Father Mihail congratulated those involved in the project, highlighting the community's effort.

The new space is intended for community meetings and activities for children, young people and families, contributing to the preservation of the Orthodox faith, the Romanian language and Romanian traditions...
