With splendor and all solemnity, Paros celebrated the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Panhellenic Holy Pilgrimage of Panagia Ekatontapyliani, which this year completes 1700 years of ministry to God and man. On Friday, August 14, 2026, in the afternoon, the Solemn Vespers was held. The Mass was officiated by the Theophilist Bishop of Skiathos, Mr. Ioannis, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, co-celebrants by His Eminence the Metropolitan Elder of Leontopolis, Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Amfilochius of Thira, Amorgos and the Islands, the Theophilist Bishop of Keramos, Mr. Bartholomeus and of the rural Pastor His Eminence the Metropolitan of Paranaxia, Mr. Kallinikos. According to old tradition, the Mass of Lita took place in procession (with the Icon and the Body of the Virgin Mary) in the courtyard of the Holy Pilgrimage where the offered breads were blessed.
