The Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi celebrated in Idiofa, L.D. Congotranslated

The Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi in Idiofa, a remote city of the Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa, which is about a day and a half's drive from the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, celebrated with particular splendor on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The Holy Church was built on the initiative of the blessed Metropolitan of Kinshasa, Mr. Nikiforos, and with the sponsorship of the Voutsidis family from Thessaloniki, at the urging of its spiritual father at the time, Hieromonk Vassiliou Lavriotos.

A missionary team of the Holy Metropolis, led by the Protosygello, Archimandrite Gerasimos, left last week from Kinshasa bound for distant Idiofa. The expedition first arrived by road in the town of Kiquit and the next day continued its journey by motorbikes.

In the celebratory Holy Church, Great Vespers and the celebratory Divine Liturgy were celebrated, during which the divine word was preached by Archimandrite Gerasimos.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, a Trisay was held for the repose of the blessed Metropolitan of Kinshasa Mr. Nikiforos, as well as the blessed Hieromonk Gerontos Vassiliou.
