Maximos Charakopoulos: The Virgin always stands as a protective forcetranslated

The Dormition of the Virgin Mary and the liberation of the city and the province from the Turks in 1881 were celebrated with splendor in Farsala.

Present at the double celebration was the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Group of the New Democracy and MP of Larissa, Mr. Maximos Charakopoulos, who referred to the importance of the feast of the Mother of God and its timeless relationship with the faith and tradition of the Greek people.

"The universal celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin in every part of our country confirms the respect of the faithful towards the Virgin Mary, and the deep conviction that she always stands as a protective force in the trials and adversities of everyday life. At the same time, the holiday of the fifteenth of August represents the culmination of the summer season with the revitalization of the Greek region and the revival of our rich customs, which are always intertwined with our religious tradition. I wish a Happy Birthday to all the celebrants", said Mr. Maximos Harakopoulos, after the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of Pharsalos, officiated by the Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalos, Mr. Timotheus, and the Doxology.
