Grand Solemn Vespers of the Dormition of the Virgin in the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos Loutra Edipsostranslated

On the evening of Friday, August 14, 2026, in the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos of Loutra Edipsos, the Great Solemn Vespers on the great Mother of God Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated with particular splendor. During the Mass, the blessing of the offered breads was also performed, while the Divine sermon followed and the placing of the body of the Virgin Mary in the specially designed canopy inside the Holy Church.

The service was performed by the vicars of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Fr. Nikolaos Argyriou and Fr. Christos Ngelas.

The cantors of the Holy Church officiated at the Holy Rectory, rendering with particular reverence the hymns of the great Theotokos Feast and contributing to the overwhelming atmosphere of the Congregation.

In his short and direct spiritual speech, Protopresbyter Father Nikolaos Argyriou referred to the maternal protection and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the life of every human being. With a timely message, he emphasized that the Virgin Mary always stands close to man, especially in the difficult moments of his life, listening to his pain, anguish and prayer and leading him to her Son and God.
