EXCLUSIVE: Albanian Prime Minister Enti Rama Visits Holy Great Monastery of Vatopeditranslated

The Holy Athonite State and the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi were visited yesterday, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, by the Prime Minister of Albania, Enti Rama. Mr. Rama arrived early in the morning at the port of Daphni and had a meeting subsequently with the Political Administrator of Agios Oreos, Alkiviades Stefanis. Following this, he proceeded to the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi where he was received by the Hegumen, Geron Ephraim Vatopedinos, and the Vatopedian Sisterhood.

The Albanian Prime Minister, with his artistic eye, expressed amazement at the architecture of the Monastery as well as its iconography, conveying his admiration.

He also stated that he is familiar with the Holy Philokalia and the rich tradition of the Athonite State.

Mr. Rama spent the night at the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi and departed this morning.
